Ways JYJ Shows Character Education
Once again, our JYJ students are showing off their knowledge of exhibiting character education traits. See Spot Read, is a program which allows students to practice their reading skills while reading to everyone's favorite friend....a dog! I saw our students reading and showing outstanding character education traits such as: being respectful and showing kindness to the dogs and their owners, showing responsibility by coming on time to the library, displaying courage by reading aloud to the dog and showing self-discipline by focusing on reading and not playing with the dog and ignoring distractions. Way to go JYJ, continue to show your character ed both inside and outside of school!
Character Ed Books Spotlight
Each month, books will be on display in the media center based on the character trait of the month (for all reading levels). Students are welcome to check out the books on display. This spotlight section is going very well. I've found myself having to restock the shelves quite often.
JYJ Character Ed Book Bucks
Our JYJ students always show great character traits and are rewarded by receiving character ed book bucks. Each Friday, students can redeem their book bucks by choosing books from the book bucks cart. 5 book bucks = 1 book, 10 book bucks = 2 books, and so on. Each Friday, our students look forward to getting their books. Books are donated from parents, students and teachers (we appreciate it very much).
